Cradle 2 Cradle in my house: mission impossible?

Being an Ecomama i’m aware in making my choices. Especially for my baby i want the products i buy to be biological and ecological. That’s how i first found about about ‘ Cradle to Cradle’ also known as C2C.

Cradle 2 Cradle theory

In the book ‘Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things’ the authors Architect William McDonough and Chemist Michael Braungart write about a cradle-to-cradle way of manufacturing that is as effective as nature itself in maintaining sustainability. The focus of their vision is for us to use nature itself as a model for manufacturing.
Companies which espouse the cradle to cradle philosophy work on creating products which can actively benefit the environment, and on creating closed manufacturing cycles which allow them to keep using the same technical components over and over again, rather than discarding them. One of the key concepts is the idea that “waste is food,” which really means that there should be no waste products in cradle to cradle manufacturing, because products can either be reused and returned to the cycle, or organically broken down for use as food for the natural environment.

First C2C baby gifts worldwide

Laladoo is the first Cradle 2 Cradle babybrand in the world. It’s a dutch company. The Dutch should be proud because C2C is the future. The entire design and production of the Laladoo collection is thought through. It took the creators two years but the result is a poison free baby product.

In the end it’s all about the product itself. Right now there are four products named Kimo, Daffi, Snuzi and Biba. They look adorable!

Dreaming of a C2C world

If you’re a into C2C than you’re a dreamer, idealist and a do-gooder. I embrace that. But it’s not me. My hubby thinks it’s like being a vegan among vegetarians. I do think it’s a great concept but i’m simply not ready to go all the way. If i want to buy something and a C2C product is one of the options i would prefer that one. And maybe if everybody would do that we would force the producers to produce more ecofriendly. And that would make the world a better place.

So… Go! Laladoo! Because now we have an accessible choice when we’re shopping for a baby shower gift!
